Last Night's Show

Last night we played at the Hotel Utah. Our portion of the show was great. We played really well considering that we waited around for nearly four hours to play. We got on stage at 12:30 after suffering through a one hour long sound check by the Cosmic Rough Riders, the band who was slated to headline the show. It was typical rock dickishness: they had tons of gear, got there early and just set up and demanded to play first. And so they set up for 45 minutes, tuned, dicked around with a wireless vocal monitor for a club that sat about 30 people and continued to check mics and tune. Needless to say it just sucked for us and the other two bands who were patiently waiting for this Wednesday night to begin.

Like I said, typical shit. I was holding out for them thinking that maybe with all the back and forth of setting up for hours, that perhaps they'd do something interesting with their fancy vintage re-issue guitars. Just one long song. Same tempo, oatmeal rock, ready for VH-1.

Whine Whine!

The coolest tho was the other band, Light Sleepers commented that our set was interesting and varied. YEAH-HUH! I like that.
