Some Old Ideas and Morals

First, the ideas.

1. You should start a blog so I have something to read. Don't you worry about me?
2. Three faucets standard: hot, cold, beer. (So National Lampoon!)

Now, on to the morals.

Here's this very scientific test that someone found on the Internet. Moral Politics Test. You can take the long or the short version. I scored pretty idealistically, as in Socialist with Extreme Socialist leanings.

Ever since finding this out I've been launched into the kind of despair that Kierkegaard wrote about (kidding, I've never read Kierkegaard, but I was an English major, so I, like, gleaned things). I have these moral leanings, but I act in ways that aren't quite in step those thoughts. And, dammit, that makes me sad for myself, for my own natural contradiction. Dichotomies are natural.

Seems most people think as idealistically as I do, too. And most conservatives don't take the moral matrix Internet quiz. These are the overall results:

How do you score?
